Yes! In signing up and paying the registration fee for this challenge, you are given the option to either be SELF-FUNDED, or choose from one of 3 FUNDRAISE options for a chosen charity. If a FUNDRSAISE option is selected, after completing your registration payment (s) you must also reach your fundraising target to guarantee your place on the challenge.
But fear not! We have an expert team of fundraising guides and support available to help you alongside the incredible support you shall receive directly from the charity.
If you have not reached your target by the final fundraising deadline date, you can defer your place on the challenge to next year and pay a deferral fee (varies depending on challenge).
If you reached 80% of your fundraising target by the final deadline, you may be allowed to go on the challenge in the current year, and then fundraise the remaining amount of money once you are back.
However, if you have not reached your target and have not been in communication with us, the Endeavours Adventures team will cancel your place on the challenge.
Flights to and from the challenge are not included in the registration fee, as this gives you the chance to arrive before or stay after the challenge and explore Peru / South America, whilst also meaning you can enjoy the benefit of finding discounted or reduced flights to save money.
Example flight options, costs and top tips are provided for each of our overseas challenges, so you are never alone in this, with the team on hand should you need any support with booking the best flights possible.
We strongly recommend that you practice some form of hiking before you embark on this challenge and start training 6-8 weeks before the challenge date. If this is not possible for you to do, we would recommend going on regular walks with different types of ground, steepness, and even practice walking with the bag you will wear on the challenge, as well as your walking boots. All of this will help prepare your body.
There are no specific exercise routines that you must follow, as everyone is different. However, doing squats regularly as well as step-up exercises, such as the stair master at the gym, is recommended.
You will receive a kit list for your challenge between 16-12 weeks before your challenge date.
Absolutely! Participants can join our adventure and culture filled extension trip, or are welcome to make their own plans.
