Start off your fitness journey by writing down your goals. Donโ€™t make them impossible targets otherwise you might get overwhelmed and feel like you can't achieve them.

 Start off with small, simple goals. For example, a 5k run or a week of eating healthy foods only. When you are further down the line in your fitness journey, then you can start to set yourself the trickier, challenging goals.

2. Having a balanced diet! ๐Ÿ… 

Food is such a big factor. It is one of the main reasons you may/ may not be seeing and feeling results. Sticking to non-processed foods, lean protein, veggies, nuts and berries will enhance your journey to becoming fit and make you feel 10x better in the long run!

Of course you can still treat yourself to a cheeky takeaway or a sweet treat- just be mindful of your eating habits.

3. Stay active! ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ 

This is an obvious one! Staying active is one of the most important parts to maintaining health. It can be something as simple as going on walks or doing a HIIT workout.

4. Stretch! ๐Ÿง˜

Stretching is such an underrated factor to staying fit. Not only does it clear your mind it also gets you feeling fresh and ready to conquer the day ahead.                             

5. Plan! ๐Ÿ“

Having some sort of structure in your life is an easy way to help you stick to plans and goals for yourself. If you have a set out plan of what you are going to do in your day it will be a whole lot easier to follow along.

3 MOTIVATION TECHNIQUES

Motivationโ€ฆ we are all guilty of losing motivation, giving up all progress and subsequently facing the consequences. 

There are 3 handy techniques you can apply to your life to maintain your motivation. They are: SMART goals, Accountability Buddy and Self-Reflection Sunday.

SMART goals:

๐Ÿ“Measurable

๐Ÿ…Achievable

๐ŸงRealistic

Accountability buddy: 

This is where you partner up with a 'buddy' to stay motivated. You each have to set challenges for each other and if you fail then the other gets a reward.  This helps you both stay motivated and makes exercise fun for both of you. 

For example, say that you have to both do 10,000 steps per day for a week in preparation for one of our challenges, if one of you fails then they have to buy dinner for the other as a consequence for not completing the task. 

Self-reflection Sunday: 

Every Sunday set yourself a task to write 5 things in the week that you have accomplished that you are proud of. Big or small. Then, write down 5 things you wish to complete in the next week. 

This technique will help put you into a positive mindset as it indicates that you are possible of taking on new tasks and making purpose of your life. 

If you incorporate these 3 techniques into your life, you will be motivated and clear minded to smash anything coming your way! 



EXERCISES YOU CAN DO

There are a range of different exercises you can participate in. It can be long, low intensity workouts such as an 8,000 steps walk or high intensity workouts such as a 20 minute run. 

Or it could be any sort of extracurricular exercise activities, such as:

  • Gymnastics

  • Dancing

  • Football

  • Rugby

  • Tennis

And that's only naming a few! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Any range of exercises that appeal to you the most should be the exercises you take part in. If you enjoy the form of exercise you do it will be easier to maintain your fitness.
